Matt Rose is a self-taught photographer who started exploring the art of photography when he received his first digital camera as a young man. After graduating from Roanoke College, he realized his true love for picture taking, as he discovered the many realms of photography. In 2013 he started his own business under the name of Alexander Rose Photography LLC. Using the name Alexander Rose is meaningful to him, since Alexander is his middle name passed down from George Rose, his father.
Some of his favorite areas of focus in photography are water drop photography, HDR, incense smoke photography, landscape/extreme weather, macro, Real Estate, and steel wool spinning. His favorite genre is by far macro photography. This allows him to show his viewers something that is not possible to see with the naked eye, a world unseen and hidden to most.
Matt is also the proud founder and former president of Roanoke Disc Golf. He devoted many hours to kick start the unified movement of a disc golf community within the Roanoke Valley. The club’s loyal members share Matt’s vision. They contributed their talents and time and continue to nurture the growth of this sport within the Roanoke Valley.
